Cecilia Wong

Cecilia Wong, Founder of Cecilia Wong Skincare Salon, is a lifelong skincare and well being enthusiast turned expert. Born in Hong Kong and raised in New York and New Jersey, Cecilia’s passion for skincare began at a young age. Troubled by problem skin during her teenage years, she discovered solutions through regular facials. For Cecilia, treating the surface issues weren’t enough. She took an interest in an organic lifestyle, including diet and skincare products. The philosophy was simple; by using only the purest in organic ingredients in/on our bodies our skin would in-turn glow. It was then that Cecilia decided she would launch a skincare brand in New York City, offering holistic skincare services and products utilizing only the purest ingredients.

Cecilia understood that in order to be successful she needed to garner the knowledge to support her passion and she attended New York University for Entrepreneurial Management. In 2005, Cecilia relocated to Hong Kong to concentrate on research and development for her future salon. In Hong Kong, Cecilia opened a pop-up salon – where she put her innovative ideas in treatments and products to use. Cecilia custom blended organic products in her home with ingredients found at the local market, and utilized them in the treatments and to sell to clients. It was here that she keyed in on the perfect formulations to her organic products, these including the wildly popular Black Currant Serum.

After moving back to New York City in 2008, Cecilia took an apprenticeship with an acclaimed New York City-based facialist. During her time at the spa, she further applied her passion of skincare, knowledge of non-invasive treatments and organic ingredients.  Satisfied that she had the skills necessary to acquire success and through the encouragement of her clients, Cecilia decided she was ready to open her own salon. In just two months time, she selected a store location – in Union Square, sourced a local organic farm for ingredients – designed a spa menu – featuring five targeted services along with specialized treatments for individual clients, prepared the first batch of her Black Currant Serum – to be sold at the spa, and opened for business. In December 2009 Cecilia Wong Skincare Salon was born.

Cecilia crafts specialized treatments utilizing the most powerful, non-aggressive methods, paired with custom blended skincare products designed with superior organic ingredients for her clients. Above and beyond surface level skin concerns, Cecilia coaches clients to their ideal wellbeing through treating the source of the skin concern both internally and externally. As an added value for services at the salon, clients are given a suggested home treatment plan, including organic diet and skincare regime.

In 2011, Cecilia released five products in the Cecilia Wong Skincare organic line – headlined by the Black Currant Serum which was inspired by her “green & fruit juice”. These products include: Gel Cleanser, Milk Exfoliating Cleanser, Moisturizer (formulated for Dry/Mature, Sensitive, or Oily/Overactive), Toner Mist, and Black Currant Serum. All products are 100% custom blended with only the purest oils, organically grown herbs and botanicals, and designed with each unique skin type in mind. The Cecilia Wong Skincare line is formulated without the use of parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oils, synthetic emulsifiers, toxic preservatives, and artificial colors or fragrances.
