Lauren Morelli

Lauren Morelli is a television writer, and is currently working on one of Netflix’s new original shows– Orange Is The New Black. Raised in Pittsburgh by an accountant and an English teacher, Lauren can neither add nor spell.  She did, however, develop into a rabid Steelers fan, which luckily saved her reputation at home.  During her senior year at Marymount Manhattan College, Lauren was selected by her peers to be the commencement speaker, during which she pulled off a rare feat: making Hilary Clinton—the keynote speaker—laugh during her speech (photographic proof upon request). After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Modern Dance, she went on to write dance reviews for the Village Voice and work at the School of American Ballet, where it didn’t take her long to realize that not-for-profits were not for her.  Accordingly, Lauren relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television writing. When she’s not writing, Lauren is proud to volunteer for Free Arts, an organization that provides positive artistic experiences for abused, homeless and at-risk children.

We formed a California corporation for Lauren.
