Desiree Frieson

Queens, New York native Desiree Frieson is a communications professional with a passion for ideas. Frustrated with normal 9-5 work life, Desiree is an individual on a mission to conquer the startup world successfully with her newly launched venture, Competeable, an online market research SaaS solution for today’s busy marketers. Coming from a strong background helping businesses make well-informed marketing decisions through market research and industry insight, Desiree’s new venture is a combination of her passion, expertise, and the future of where online market research is going.

Before her entrepreneurial spirit took over, Desiree began her career in the communications department at one of Manhattan’s leading not-for-profit faith-based media production organizations, Odyssey Networks. She was successful in implementing social media programs, content strategy, online marketing and public relations campaigns and organizational rebranding, but she was the idea igniter.

After she was laid-off due to corporate restructuring in October 2010, Desiree decided to move full-force into freelancing with a diverse group of companies in the New York/New Jersey area. She found success creating effective social media and marketing strategies for theater producers, entertainment promoters, non-profits, online magazines, multimedia companies and lifestyle blogs. Building off her success, Desiree expanded her client base to include fashion producers and media companies.

In July 2010, Desiree created The Bloggers Soiree, an award-winning social initiative that exists to create brand awareness for lesser known charities in New York City via a highly aggressive media awareness campaign and live social media event using the power and influential voices of bloggers. Desiree was awarded the 2011 JWT Diffrenter Award for Modern Day Black History Markers February 24 in New York City for her work with the Bloggers Soiree.

Besides continuing to freelancing and working for a few companies, Desiree is fully committed to launching Competeable, Inc by Fall 2012.

Desiree received her Bachelors of Arts in Media Arts from Wesley College located in Dover, DE and received her Master’s of Business Administration in Marketing from Walden University Online. She is a former member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women-Manhattan Chapter and New York American Marketing Association.

We formed a Delaware corporation for Desiree.
