I missed a shareholders’ meeting. How can I find out what happened at the meeting?

You can make a written request for information within 60 days after any annual, regular, or special meeting of shareholders. See Cal. Corp. Code § 1509. After receiving your request, the corporation must let you know the result of any vote taken by the shareholders at the meeting, including the number of votes for and against, as well the number of abstaining shares. If the matter voted on was the election of directors, the corporation must report to you the number of shares (or votes if voted cumulatively) cast for each nominee for director. In corporations with more than one class or series of shares, the report must be broken down by class and series.
