Matthew Clough: Benson Backpacks Carry an Education

Matthew Clough descended from the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and learned his friendly, hardworking porter named Benson, only earns between $1-2 per day – not enough to put a child through school. Arriving home, Matthew envisioned harnessing the power of retail to educate those in need. He founded Benson Backpacks and designed a product that represents his trip and education. Matthew explains “Our backpacks are designed for carrying day-to-day items to school or work”.   Each purchase of a Benson Backpack supports a child’s education in Tanzania,  Africa.   $10 from each purchase goes directly to the Knock Foundation, supporting their education program, which includes tuition assistance, school meals, school supplies.

We formed a California LLC for Matthew.
