Whether it is the practicality of its bite sized proportions, the nostalgia associated with a childhood fancy, or the visual and aromatic impact of these treats, it seems that the cupcake phenomenon sweeping the US is here to stay. Bolstered by the advent of the ever popular Food Network reality series, ‘CupcakeWars’, our nation’s foodies can’t seem to shake the cupcake obsession. It is against this backdrop that Sweet Vybz was conceptualized. Sweet Vybz is the brainchild of Timothy McIntosh, Daniel McKell and Amanda Rosenberg, a dynamic group of young entrepreneurs. Upon graduating from MIT with a degree in Bio Chemical Engineering, Timothy decided to forego a career in the hydrocarbon industry to co-found (with his sister) The Sweet Lobby, a gourmet boutique bakery on Capitol Hill. Timothy and his sister’s advanced technical background as Chemical Engineers proved integral, as the cupcakes crafted by the duo were nothing short of spectacular, the perfect scientific synthesis of the highest quality ingredients. Furthermore, their upbringing on the cosmopolitan Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, gave the siblings a uniquely astute perspective on blending together truly eclectic flavor combinations.
